I just got a C32 this weekend.. When I test drove it (and had it checked out by the only Independent MB machanic with a Star Diagnostic system in town) no one noticed it.. But, having fun with it this weekend I noticed that there is a slight gas smell in the cabin (maybe from the AC) when I step on the gas Pettel.

Its an un-burnt gas smell, and its only for a moment.. If I leave my foot on the petel the smell goes away after a moment, if I step on it more it comes back for a moment.. Also there is no smell when you start the car..

The MB Machanic that checked the car out (and gave it a good bill of health) did mention that the HVAC filter was dirty, could increased airflow (from acceloration) cause this if that filter was dirty?

Also the previous owners service records did show that he had a similar problem and all the fuel lines were replaced under warranty.

Thanks for you input.

I had a gas smell in the cabin of my 2006 C55. Turned out it was a leaky fuel pump top. On my car, removed the back seat cushion and the round cover on the driver side of the floor board. Check the top of the fuel pump for gas. There was also an access on the other side that could also do the same. Mine had no problem there.
