SLC replacement rocker panel found. Seller wants to cut panel to half for shipping!

Hi All,

I am about to embark on restoration part 2.0 on my 1979 280 SLC. I recently purchased a replacement rocker panel from a seller on ebay. Due to problems with his shipping company, he has recommended that he could cut the brand new item into for shipping purposes and then would not have a problem shipping it to Singapore, where I am at.

Apparently he has done it before for someone in Australia. I'm just wondering whether there is any sanity in that suggestion from him. I loath to cut a brand new replacement part into two for the sake of shipping! Just doesn't make sense to me.

Any comments?

I wouldn't buy unless the price was significantly reduced(like free). You need to make a jig to weld it back true again. Seems like an unnecessary hassle to me.

I would pass...

Shipping long items is a pia. The cost of purchasing a box for that is about $30.00.
