i just bought a '92 SL500 that is a japan import (i'm in canada, west coast) from someone who has already registered it here and passed inspection. The front corner (turn signals) don't light up when i turn the headlights on. the turn signals work though. is there a way to have the markers come on with the headlights? The only other problem is the central locking system doesn't work, other than that it's a beautiful car with 63,000 klm's.

Thank you
Doug

Parking lights for Japanese models are - I assume - like Euros. They're in the main headlight housing.

You will need different lamp plugs and divert the wiring if you wish to have them with your turn signals.

Like elbeik said you will need dual filament light sockets for the corner lights to accept 1157 bulbs. Run the wire from your city lights over to the new sockets. Not a big deal. I will PM you my number give me a call if you like.

I saw a new Audi yesterday, behind me on the freeway. I thought of the idea of replacing that silly clear ( now yellow).. headlight bezel, with an aftermarket bezel, designed to have part of it use that neat LED mini- lights, as running lights.

Just a thought.......

Be careful when buying aftermarket accessories; especially with headlight parts.

Many of those China-made parts have sub-zero quality and durability.

They'll fade and allow humidity to accumulate in no time.

Japan front corner markers

i looked at the corner marker lights today and found they had the right bulbs to have running lights, it's just that the vehicle wiring only has a two pin connector and the bulb assembly has three pins available so i'm going to take a trip to the autowreckers and see what a north american plug looks like, but i suspect i'll be taking the previous advice and just run a wire from the headlights to the one pin that's not being used. will update. now i'm onto my central locking system problem. Also noticed that all of the fuses are slowly turning to powder so i'm going to change them all before i do anything even for piece of mind, otherwise the car is in showroom condtion.

You might want to think twice before deciding on having your turn signal on with your city lights.

These big orange lights might reveal a little too flashy - in my humble opinion.
