I have 1999 SL500 with stock (17") wheels.

I am looking at both stock & custom rims off a 2005 SL500, as follows:
.

Both wheels are (front) 18X8.5, (back) 18x9.5

Will these just bolt on to my SL? Will I have clearance problems given the increased width of the rear tire? Would it matter if it they were off a 2003-2004SL?

Thanks

Update: The wheels I eventually bough are off a 2003 SL as follows:

fronts are 18x8.5 ET35 and the rears are 18x9.5 ET40.The front tires are sizes 255/40/ZR18 and the rears are 285/35/ZR18.

By not "fitting correctly" do you mean a spacer (i.e.1/4") will produce the proper fit? Should I expect any performance or clearance problems with the new rims/tires? Thanks.

I've put R230 wheels on an R129 with out any rubbing problem (stock height). Tire size will be slightly taller than your stock one. You'll also need new lug bolts.

Have you put R230 wheels with ET35 (front) and ET40 (rear)on a R129:

What size new bolts would I use? Thanks.
