From what I've read on this forum, I was under the impression that any W211 with COMAND could be wired up for Sirius.

I just took my '03 E500 Sport to my local dealer who told me the car was not wired for Sirius and that they could not do it...?

Does this make sense?

Though I can't tell you why technically, some cars are "Sirius ready" and some aren't. When buying my 06 E350 there were two similar ones on the lot. Neither had Sirius installed yet but the dealer was going to add one before delivery. At the last minute, the GM asked if anybody confirmed whether Sirius could be added to the car I picked. It turned out it wasn't capable. So I switched to the other car that was capable. I didn't ask why, I wish I would have because it makes no sense.

Most 2003 and 2006 E-classes seem to lack Sirius pre-wiring. However, no matter whether or not the W211 is pre-wired, Sirius can be installed at any time. MBenzNL installed various SAT kits in W211s that weren't pre-wired from factory, and he didn't have a hard time to 'make' the cars 'Sirius-ready;.

That alldata document, seems to be dated November 5th. I wonder if that it only covers for that time frame.

If anyone could point me towards a dealer or installer who could hlep me in the Northern VA DC area, I'd really appreciate it.
