I'm having a problem. I want new, or I want side skirt for my car but I'm having some problem knowing what type to use. I have found this one on ebay (eBay Motors: Mercedes Genuine Rieger SLK R170 Infinity Side Skirts (item 170132641508 end time Jun-13-08 11:19:03 PDT)) but this is for the 97-04 modells. I thought that the 97-00 and 00-04 uses diffrent side skirt because of the fit. Since my car dosnt have one installed for the factory and the facelift has, the attachemnt ar diffrent. Is this correct? I asked the guy selling it and he tells me that this side skirt will fit all SLK R170 modells, could this be true?

They will fit. You need to get the MB plastic spacer buttons to go under sills (skirts)

So, is there any side skirts that dont fit the pre-2000 SLK? I have now found some very cheap side skirt from factory but I still wounder if it fits. I have heared that there are som that dont fit the pre2000.

They look like the AMG ones for a pre FL so sould fit your car.

Make sure all the hardware for the side skirts install is supplied.

But how do you attach them? I have found a install guide and when I read this I dont see how I can install any of the sideskirt I have found...

That's a guide I spose, but you need to replace the jack up pads & some other things under there before you can screw the sides on. AMG also use some glue (black stuff) & velcro strips on the front & rear of the skirt. Then a bunch of screws in the entrance panel area.
