My Aux fans have never worked not even on low A/C on a hot day below 25mph. So this will become my next project, the fans run if I bridge the wires on the green sensor at the drier. I have a feeling it may be the K9 relay.

My question is as seen on my B10/8 sensor the plug deteriorated through heat over the years. I have since wired better connectors on to the wires, but on doing a search I came across this picture posted by Ray (I think) that shows a B10/8 with a more vertical connector that is wired with a resistor to it. I cannot remember seeing any evidence of one on my old plug. Does anyone know if it is a later update or do any 1992 owners have it fitted and if so what it's purpose is?

Thanks
Norman

Ah! I believe that is an addition when doing the K6JRF mod, which I won't be doing.
So the new question is should I be getting any readings off the 2 wires going on to the Blue 2 pin sensor. I pulled them off and bridged them, expecting the fans to come on but nothing.
I am thinking they may go back to the K9 relay and then to the aux fans for low speed. Any Ideas?

I can get you the readings you want you just have to tell me which and how I would go about getting them. I do have a multimeter but like I said I need a detailed run through.
That's why I posted, I have a mm but don't know what or how :D hopefully someone will. But I appreciate your offer of help

On my 91w124 had a bad coolant sensor that talks to the fans,if its bad fans don't work, just a thought, luckily it was like $26,fans work now, think the test was if you pull the electrical connector at sensor, fans come on. the resister add on is so fans start at lower coolant temps.

Another tip! my connector was toast,so I found a trailer plug ,had 3 female inputs,I shaved one off ,and it fit perfectly! a little solder and heat shrink, good to go!

just fyi at an ambient temp of 28 degrees c the b10/8 sensor read 4.7k ohms. the disconnected wires from the sensor read 1.3k ohm with ign off, engine off. I just realised I should have reversed polarity the test leads to see if the reading changes - i'll do it tomorrow.

btw it seems that one side of b10/8 (#2 grey violet) goes to the a/c push button control module and the other side (#1 brown yellow green) seems to be a common ground connect for most of the a/c and cooling/heating related sensors. this info from star classic.

Thanks for the info, hopefully the more I know the easier it should be :) I ordered a K9 the 2 temp sensors 4 & 2 pin and the big resistor below the head light. I have tested the fans and they work ok. I will install 1 thing at a time and hopefully find the one that is the problem, just hope it doesn't come down to the controller.
