I have a '99 CLK 320 with 23k miles. It is generally used for very short trips under 5 miles. There are so many electrical components that draw on the battery, that I wonder how this impacts its useful life.

Does it make sense to replace the battery now that it is 4 years old? (I'd rather pay now than get stuck somewhere.)

How much does a battery cost for a Mercedes CLK?

Nah, we have maintenance free batteries and unless you see that your interior lights, etc are extraordinarily dimmer, then I wouldn't replace it just yet.

Mine is 5 years old with around 57k miles and I had this checked on my last service visit. It's still good and strong.

Battery

I would just check the battery and make sure that it is not drying out. In other words just add water if necessary. Mine started acting up a few months ago and it just needed some water. Not a problem since.
