I found a Beautiful example of a c230 today, but I would like a second opinion. I'm a first time Benz buyer, and am not exactly sure what to look out for. Carfax is clean, but I would like someone to check and make sure this balance shaft stuff isn't going to effect the engine on this beauty! Mileage is High on this thing, but I cannot emphasize enough on how clean it was. one owner, 118k miles (Should I be worried about mileage this high?). vin is WDBRF52H26A911244 I test drove the crap out of this Benz today, and everything worked flawlessly.

Heres a link to the car for pics on cars.com. Thanks for your feedback! - Steve

Check if the tranny has been serviced. Test drives are one thing, but have the car checked by a mechanic that knows these cars. Ask for a printout of diagnostic codes.

Fist of all, that price is about $3K too high - check KBB.com. Also, that vehicle has M272 engine #376487 which is within the range of those affected by the defective balance shaft/timing gear problems. Unless you can verify that it was fixed (a $4K+ job) then I'd find another one.
