I currently own a 2006 S350...I drive 60,000 miles per year (mostly highway commute). I just turned 100,000 miles (bought a certified pre-owned in January).

My dealer just took in on trade a 2003 S600 that he had originally sold and has serviced. 72,000 miles but too old to be certified.

I havent seen it yet (I will of couse) but my dealer who I respect tells me its "perfect".

I can probably buy it for 22-23K...

Is this a car I can drive every day? I usually keep them one year and then get another one due to the miles...I know it would be screaming fun, but is it even remotely reasonable?

thanks in advance for your opinion.

I dont think this car would be good for a DD.... for the reason that parts are too expensive to replace if they break down. If you want to make a dd the key is good warranty and long miles...personally I would stay away from it

The car is fun but with that kind of mileage per year you would have to be prepared to spend $3K to $5K in repairs for the year on top of normal maintenance. Plus at least a couple sets of tires.

thanks for the info...not challenging, just asking:

my S350 has needed virtually no maintenance/repairs...is the S600 that much different? I thought they both had hydraulics etc...

2003 was a worse year for reliability that 2006, plus IIRC the 600 motor had issues that the other W220 motors didn't. I would stay away from that car.
