Hi,

I'm hopeing to get a good suggestion on which shock would be the best bang for the buck for my '82 300D.

(all prices are the same for front and rear pair)
OEM ~$160 a pair
Boge ~$126 a pair
KYB ~$85 pair
Bilstein Comfort ~$126 pair
Bilstein HD ~$165 pair

crossing fingers for some usage opinions.

Thanks,
Shane Kullman

Shocks

Stick with the OEM shocks. Many (but certainly not all) people are disappointed with anything else. I don't know where you're getting your prices, but they sound rather high...

So no one has actually replaced their shocks?

KYB although not German, has a pretty good reputation. My local Midas dealer will offer one heck of a warrentee if they install.

OEM Mercedes shocks are pricey, but last a biblical timespan. I would go for the Bilstiens. KYB's will wear out often in a year or so. It could work if the local Midas shop is honest. I have pal who bought one set of brakepads at Autozone quite a few years ago, and keeps taking them back to exchange;-)

That's $136 for a pair of rear shocks, $118 for a pair of front shocks. We only offer Bilstein, which is OEM.
