Hey i just bought a MB genuine wood/leather knob. The question is, how do i take the old one off?

unscrew metal base to loosen and pull straight off .. i did it in the lot after picking my car up from the dealer .. piece of cake.

man i just cant get it off!

let me make sure im doing this right....

turn knob to left ot loosen then pull straight off?

wont work! any other suggestions

there should be a platic black/chrome ring right below the knob, unscrew that and pull the knob right up. Look at the picture, the chrome part I am talking about is at the bottom of the knob.

I will have to take a picture of mine. I bought last year the ALL WOOD shifter from MB manhattan for around $110. I actually think they originally charged me $45 (1/2 hour labor) to put the shifter on but then I asked my service manager why i was able to do it in 35 seconds and he removed the charge from my bill hehe.

I dunno sometimes i cant believe the crapola that goes on!

yeh the S500 is at MB Westwood right now and I wanted to have some dents removed, and it was $350! Well, long story short, the dealer charged me a total of $978.83 for a plastic seat piece,2 dings removed and painted, and allingment

Is it just me or is that a rip?!? i feel like this [B)]
