It wont be as much compared to Talbirs 6.2 beast, but so far with the addition of the standalone ECU, intake and tubular headers/exhaust and the getrag g/b, 8 coil ignition, perhaps about 450hp. This is a standard (internally) M119.970. The mercedes wheel caps in the distributor bores is just a bit of fun. The cam advancers may come off as well, as they are off above 4000rpm in factory trim and the car wont spend that much time below that mark when in the track.

you know you are going to have to post more pictures and not leave it at that right--what software are you using to sync everything together in unison? I expect he will be adding some additional cross bracing or a strut tower bar of some kind since cutting the front???

The m119 can push out big power with no mods to the internals but not without mods to the heads/intake manifold and valves.....that's where an engine makes it's power, plus the exhaust of course.

One can achieve 700bhp from an m119 but you'd be replacing much of the internals every 1000 miles !

So the balance has to be achieved between power and longevity/reliability.....hence i am keeping the 6.2 m119 down to 525bhp.

Oh my God.

How will you ever get by on "only" 525 HP?

Exactly, they have far more room to improve then the 117, I know that first hand from seeing the various incarnations of his previous engine (117) he had only just got it right, as in no more blowing stuff up and decided to quit that path while he was ahead. This way he can see where the intake and exhaust mods + others, gets him before adding cams, displacement, worked heads etc, etc. He is wanting to eventually enter into the "Super GT" series we have here that has cars running 800hp+.

Bear in mind that this is an out and out race car, Talbir will have a road going car with everything that intails i.e from factory diagnosis to A/C and everything in between, and this being a race car the owner can tear it down after every race. So even though they are the same engine base they are also poles apart in their purpose and boundries, it will be very interesting to see what becomes of both projects. Of course I'd want BOTH cars in my garage
