There's something definitely wrong with the rear bumper on the one being sold by copley motors. It's saging bad.

Brent, look at that 1990 300GE... wasn't that one of your favorites. REALLY low miles. The interior is quite odd... but i'd put 95% down that interior is worth it's weight in gold in so far as indicating it's probably seen zero abuse in what few miles it has... well worth the cost of re-upholstering in leather that's for sure.

The it looks like the short wheel base g500 has full coverage rubber floor mats... i think i can just see the grey of it in the passenger seat pic.
It looks like Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are no longer G owners.

I can understand tinting the windows, but why add the DVD player? Eh, maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but I never believed in having televisions inside any vehicle.

There's something definitely dodgy about that 300 GE. Running the VIN (WDB46322817071366)in the website of our Russian colleagues ( http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng ), it shows this G as originally painted in 9147 arctic white and fitted with a E09 becker radio set avus cassette kurier which is not the one currently fitted with the car. Obviously a 1990 GWagen should not have an airbag as the one shown, let alone that dreadful upholstery...
Dutch,

Thanks for that post [:D]

I never look at E-Bay, but have the MBUSA Pre-Owned website memorized. So, when I clicked on that link, I immediately recognized one of the G500's from their site; the Silver one in Iowa.

I had hoped as these fell in price, MBUSA would lower them accordingly. I had NO IDEA they would just auction them on E-Bay [:0] That little bit of information has totally changed my buying strategy.

The things I have learned on here .... thanks for the site, and the link!!!

Given that the truck was imported and sold by Europa, the upholstery pattern is definitely fitting for Santa Fe, NM.

As to the color, the EPC agrees with you about Artic White from the factory. I wonder what happened between the factory and where it is now.
I can also attest to another 1990 Europa import having an airbag steering wheel, my 1990 300GE was fitted with one.

Couldn't do those seats[xx(] man is that ugly!

My pick was the SWB G500, bad timing for me though. I love it, 16" wheels, winch bumper, rubber mats, black/black. VERY tempting[:)]
Another one, very rare early 463 Cabrio:

Or you could wait and purchase Tommy Hilfiger's old G.

Is it just me or did a ton of pre-MBUSA G's come out of the woodwork? That's the most I've seen at any given time on eBay.

I wonder if the G55K is the reason? The original buyers of these trucks at Europa's obscene pricing could easily upgrade to a G55K and their trucks are no longer that unique. In addition, the 98-00 Gs are getting old for the fabulously wealthy. Time for a newer, better, and more elite model.
So sad .... Ben & Jenn's G-500 got "0 bids" [:(]

Thanks for pointing out that one of Tommy's. Based on the selling location, that probably was his. I don't really want NAV, so it might be interesting. Any thoughts on it??
Huntingridge is friendly, good on pricing, and reasonable in disputes, but have it taken to wolfgangs for sure in NJ, becuase he found several issues with a truck that they said was in such perfect shape you "can't spend any money on it if you want too."

It had bald tires, t-case leak, and he said it had no body damage, then carfax reported a front end collision, he said he couldn't find any evidence of front end collision... as it turns out it was because it was the whole back end that had been re-sprayed and he didn't "notice".

They were also willing to hold it for 3 months so state tax isn't required. But if you do that, get the mileage in writing before and after and make some statements in writing about what happens if they put too many miles on it.

THe interior is certainly interesting... and it has the MB running boards and factory jump seats. Both are pricey new. You can call Mark Star and and he'll basically tell you what he can sell it for. It seems he prefers to move more cars than try and squeeze top dollar.

Tommy's truck is about to expire on eBay. I REALLY liked it, but $30k was the max I would have paid for a 6 year old truck. Rubber only last so long ... in year 7 or 8 my 560SL's rubber parts started to slowly turn to dust. Every trip to the garage it's this belt, or that hose, or them gaskets [B)]

I hope it finds a good home!
