I went to this site and although I was told on the phone that the manuals were no longer available I ordered and received the 2 CD set for the W123 with shipping and sales tax $26.74

so tell us, are they informative? how deep do they go? IE, does it tell you how to rebuild a trans? or does it just show you how to change one out?

Good question! I can't for the life of me find any transmission service manual on the DVD!. It should be there. The quality of the DVD is not that great. Basically runs in web browser and links to a bunch of PDF files rather poorly scanned quality..example:

And that pic looks better cause I resized smaller..lots are blotchy uneven scans..
Guess for ~20 bucks + shipping is better than nothing..

Gonna contact MBUSA and bitch..probably forgot to burn that section to DVD..

Mercedes has never made transmission repair information available to the public.

OK....well how would you explain this page right off of the DVD?

I seem to recall a brief section that discusses the general workings of the transmission without offering any repair info. They also used to offer an actual transmission manual that didn't seem to go into repairing the transmission.

I have a CD set for 126 chassis, but I cannot find it. I need one for the 123 chassis as well. I will order that one. Is it a copy of the original MB CD?

Does this CD have information for factory recommended jacking points for a 4 arm garage lift?

i say again, i have lifted mine many, many times putting each arm right under the jack points. never have i had or observed the slightest problem in doing it that way. i have opened the doors while airborne and still no issues.
