My car is showing that Service C needs to be done in few weeks. I wonder if anyone found a place for a low cost in Montreal or nearby? I am thinking to list all the Service that should be done and bring my car to the garage and ask them to do everything listed in the Service C instead of letting the dealer handle the job... Is this a good idea?

There's a thread at the top which shows service items...as long as u use factory approved parts, incl oil and have receipts M-B can't deny warranty coverage although good faith repairs may be harder to get.

No need for complications. Off the top of my head:
Just change the oil filter (from dealer) and oil (synthetic 5/30 or 10/30 of course) and check other items like brake pads (best to pop a front wheel off to have a good look) and air filter. Possibly also take a plug out (a good tug gets the connection off) and make sure it looks good (I've got 200k km on mine). If you've got a CVT and haven't had a tranny oil change yet, it needs to be done after 60 or 80k km ... not critical.

In Montreal try Joe Bassili.......our BW forum recommends him.(514-344-5183)

....if in Laval,.. ....try Auto Technique (Labelle)..........also recommended by others

....although it seems like CTV maintenance has to be done at the stealer as parts will not be sold to outside specialists. (ask Joe about that one)

You should save a lot of $$$ this way. Report back here on how it went....

Called Joe a week ago and was told that the Service C will cost 250$ + tax + extra if needed.

He will change oil + inspect brake + checking some other stuffs (not specified). My friend told me that 250$ for doing that is way too expensive. So, I went to a known garage and the staff told me that my oil is still good and need to be changed in every 15 000 km for Mercedes - 5 000km for normal car (I only run 5000km so far). The price to change the oil for this B200 will be 150$.

I called in another garage and a staff told me that changing oil will cost 35$, but for Mercedes, it will be 40$.

How come one asking 40$ and the other one 150$? Difference? Fake or cheap oil?

My dealer charged under $200 for a C service, including new rear wiper blade.

10,000 km between oil changes is too much unless the car is driven daily for a long distance, 7500 km is when mine is always done.

Many places will change your oil for $35. You need to do your homework here.

Remember that an oil change will have to include a filter change also. Our B's require full synthetic oil and a MB B Class oil filter........nothing else.......

Jo will do it right whereas your corner garage will/can screw it up really fast and you will not be the wiser until much later. For $35 you get a jug of cheapo non synthetic oil and no filter. A filter change would then be an extra on your bill from the corner guys. Jo will give you a full breakdown of the parts required for your B. Pollen or engine air filters will also be an extra "if required"....and sadly they are not cheap.

BTW..Changing your oil at 10,000 km is the smart way to go..
Many cars still do not require synthetic oil and use cheapy oil filters because they are readily available and their dealers/garages will often recommend 5000 to 6000 km oil changes in that case.

To better understand the costs related to maintenance,..you should read the blue stickies above and other posts here... and try to get a better mechanical base of knowledge of this car.

Most garages will start at ~$75/hour + taxes and up to cover their ever increasing overhead. Luckily I'm able to do much of my own maintenance but I understand that that is often not an option for most here.

Do your homework and try to better understand what a full service inspection is all about. If they don't know this car their employees will quickly become frustrated when working on your B. Many parts are made of plastic and an uninformed local garage can easily break expensive pieces and you will pay dearly for their inexperience.

The choice is always yours to make......Good luck..:eclipsee_steering:
