I posted the steps to one of your threads before. Did they not work? Here they are again:

The following procedure to reset the service interval applies to the W210, 202, 140, and 208:

1)- Switch iginition ON and immediately press the "R" button twice
2)- Switch ignition OFF
3)- Press and hold the "R" button while switching ignition ON
4)- After 10 seconds, the new interval will appear in the display accompanied by a beep
5)- Release the "R" button
6)- Switch iginition OFF

Good luck.

It is the "reset" button on a 2000 W210 and it is on the left side of the dash right below the up and down arrows.

I can't confirm a service A, or B difference in FSS, but my car's system doesn't recognize the difference, so I don't think this is an issue.
I reset the service couple times on my cars (ML and E-class, what is the same system) and what most of the posted instruction fail to mention is, that you have to start the procedure in "sleep mode". I corrected it several times on different MB forum and the error gets reposted over and over again.
This time I checked out some members experience of reseting with door open. It worked for me, but it takes longer for the car to go into sleep mode with door open, or at least that was my impression.
Timing is critical in the procedure. Even I did it couple times in the past, it took 3 tries this time to succeed. You have to act fast.

Thank you Kajtek1 for the latest trick on how to reset the Service B. I will try on mine today. If it does not work, I'm sure sooner or later some one from this great Forum will crack the Service B's code. Take it easy!

Oh boyz! I had tried for more than 10 times but I could not put the Service B reminder message to bed. I kept switching my fingers to press that little button (including the middle one) between the attempts so other fingers could rest, but it did not work. While playing with seset procedures, I found following message and I guess they are related to the software and firmware version on my vehicle (2000 E320).

Kombi - SW: 2799
Kombi - HW: 2999
SW_Ver: 49
Kombi - NR 21054059xx

Okay, folks.

The procedure in this thread sounded different to me, but I tried it in my '01 with no effect, doors open or closed, several repeats, etc.

My owner's manual gave me this procedure...which worked like a charm.

Turn the key to position 2 (that's the "run" position, but you don't want to start the car).

Use the menu buttons on the steering wheel to navigate to the maintenance message.

Press the R button for 2-3 seconds -- until a message appears on the dash display asking if you want to reset the interval. This message will also say to press R to confirm that you want to reset. Then press it again to confirm.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Flexible Service System (FSS) reset instructions

XIGNSX - 1/19/2005 1:22 AM

Hey guys...I need to reset the "service B check" message. Does anyone know the steps in accomplishing that?..thanx in advance
This is out of the 2001 E-Class Owner's Manual; please post if this works for you.

Flexible Service System (FSS) reset instructions:

Following a completed A or B service the Mercedes-Benz Center sets the counter mileage to 10,000 miles (Canada: 15,000 km) and 365 days.

The counter can also be set by any individual. To do so:

Turn the electronic key in steering lock to position 2.

To call up the trip odometer and main odometer, press button 3 or 4 on the multifunction steering wheel until the display appears.

Press button 5 or 6 until the FSS indicator appears.

Press button 'R' on the instrument cluster for approximately 2 seconds.

The multifunction display will show the question:

'DO YOU WANT TO RESET SERVICE INTERVAL? - CONFIRM BY PRESSING R'

Press button 'R' on the instrument cluster again, and hold until a signal sounds. The message 'SERVICE INTERVAL HAS BEEN RESET' appears in the multifunction display.

The new service indicator is displayed with the reset distance of 10,000 miles (Canada 15,000 km).

Finally I did it. [:)] Thank you to Richard/E320, Gregs210 and the other folks from this thread. My Operator's Manual (2000 E320, dated 06/24/99, page 108) is wrong by saying the key is turned to position 1. The following steps are what I did to reset the Service B for 2000 E320:
1. Turn the electronic key in steering lock to position 2.
2. Press on either "double rectangular" button (closer to you) on the left side of multifunctional steering wheel to call up the trip odometer.
3. Press either upper or lower arrow button until the FSS indicator appears (the one that shows either Service A or B reminder).
4. Press button R on the instrument cluster for 2 seconds.
5. When the "Do you want to reset service interval? Cnfirm this by pressing R" message appears, release the R button and press it again to reset.

That's all folks!
