The time has come once again to thin the herd. Moving soon and hate to do this, but putting my 87 SEC on the block. Details below:

New Paint. Down to bare metal and total repaint to factory specs.
New burlwood steering wheel and gearshift knob.
New Video system.
Very nice AMG wheels.
Excellent condition, purchased from CA, now in North Virginia.
Currently in the shop getting the little things taken care of.
I have $10,000 in it, will take $8500 OBO.
Not in a real hurry to sell it, but will if the offer is right.
Has around 160,000 miles if I remember correctly.

Thanks. The wheels are from a CLK AMG. The tires are brand new. The SEC came with Lorinser wheels. They are also for sale. It will be later in the week before I can post pics of the Lorinser wheels.

I think it was a 99. I have no idea of the offset. They bolted on with no mods.

Why not just sell the 320SL you have one of the same year in the 600SL but you only have one 126.

Actually, the SL320 is going up for sale also. I just need to find time to take some pics. I have two 126's, the 300SDL and the 560SEC.

hmmm thats is a nice looking ride, tell us more. Do you have service records? what needs attention? timing chain and valve seals done?
I have some records. The car is in the shop now getting the once over for anything it may need. It will need nothing for the new owner.

not to piss you off powerpig. but i could've sworn i've seen a 1988 560SEC with all original parts with 133k miles for $2,700/obo. how come with 160K for $8k+ such a great deal? especially when it's been re-painted? preferrably wouldn't go with any type of screens, especially when w126 vehicle place them decks really low... accident waiting to happen...

One would hope that a car with 133k on it would have a significant number of NON-ORIGINAL parts, as long as they are OEM. My car was a great deal, specifically because it had most of the original parts - and they were worn out or broken with few exceptions. The price you quoted sounds appropriate to me for a car with all original parts. Like transmission filter, spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, flex discs, engine mounts, etc.

sorry, when i meant original parts, i meant all parts were replaced with OEM benz parts. not aftermarket. so that concluded my theory. how come this '87 560SEC could fetch over that amount? especially when mileage is a big factor, and not what money you put in to it. i.e. a ricer with $10k in aftermarket, hoping to increase value, but not all original. don't understand that.

kkb.com say 1987 560SEC 160K Excellent Value (Private Party Seller) = $4570
