It has 119K on it and its just and really the 320 sucks. I want to sell it and put a little more money in for maybe a 2002 Audi A4 or 98 mercedes S500. Could you help me out with picking a new used car. Thanks

I'd stick to the Mercedes. The best thing to do is test ride the cars you're interested in for the same price. I found the S500 to be a nice car, but I don't like how big it feels sitting in the car. The E430 or E500 is a great ride.

I would test ride a ML with the 8 cylinder and see how you like that, unless you want a car over a SUV

Test ride a C280, you can get a sweet car in that class for the price of an S500 and it's a real sporty ride.

The S500 will not get too much better MPG than the SUV

I agree. My wife's 4-DR 2003 320i averages 28mpg. We bought it used with 48K on the ODO. It now has about 65K and I'm very impressed with the mileage. And, though I haven't had any major issues with the car (tranny did go into limp mode at 49K due to bad alternator), they do tend to have MB-like electronic issues.

For your budget and situation, I'd agree with the BMW 3. Although from what I've seen with friends' Bimmers, they will still have electrical issues but are still about as reliable. Another option would be the E-Class.
