To get the COMAND directions to show on the multi-function display in the instrument panel, the dealer or other shop must use the diagnostic coumputer to set navigation to present in one of the menus. I would post the instructions, but I can't access them right now.

You will need a dealer or shop with a DAS computer.

They will need to follow these menus in the DAS:

Control Units -> Info. and comms. -> ICM -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Version Coding -> Optional Equipment

You will be presented with a menu of options- all are either "PRESENT" or "NOT PRESENT". Select "PRESENT" for Navigation and the MFD display will show the driving directions from the COMAND.

The DAS computer does far more than just OBD-2. It is a laptop computer and software system that MB uses to access every electronic component of the car. Leasing one costs US$24000 per year. The only aftermrket software I know about are OBD-2 scanners which let you look at information from the car, but they can't adjust anything. I am not sure what you mean by changing the starting logo. Do you mean the screen which show the MB logo when COMAND first starts? If so, that can be changed, but I don't know how. I just know that some hackers in Europe have changed it.
