You know what, I don't have to justify my personal opinion to you. The post was linked in the amusing craigslist thread which means someone besides me thought the price was a joke. If someone wants to pay a ton of money for something that might not be worth the metal it's made out of that is on them. In general (which apparently does not include AMG SEC's) the classic market right now is trending towards originality. People are wanting unrestored good examples and will pay good money for them. You make it sound like I suggested it needed to be scrapped. Your also still being a smartass. People like you are the reason people don't like forums very much anymore because one throwaway comment, and someone is going to let them have it. Life is just not that serious.

Beautiful car, would love to get more information about the metal front fenders. I know that Westmont often made metal fenders based on the fiberglass versions (I have the templates) but they often looked quite a bit different (Reggie Jacksons's Orient Red car comes to mind). Did AMG offer a stamped metal front?

He is never going to get that for it. He can dream on with that price. It would needed to have been mint garage kept with low miles to hope to achieve that. People want originality at that price point.

Great result . Iirc his first Widebody was under 10k, it caught fire and insurance paid out 40k, he got this one and flipped it for 100k.

If I was super rich I would gone for it. They are astounding cars. I only got in one once, but I won't ever forget it.
