I checked all power source to presenter and all is good. Still seatbelt presenter does not retrack. I switched relay, used relay from passenger seat belt presenter of driver side and driver presenter still did not work. Are both relays the same or have the same part no? Need help, does anyone have the answer?

they have the same function so they could be the same.
Did you try to bypass the switch and/or the relay with a couple of wires?

yes I did and the presenter would only move forward.

I have a spare drivers side presenter assembly if you're interested. In perfect order, gears are pristine. PN 124 820 5026. PM me if need be.

I'm having the same problem with my '93 300CE. My guess is that the switch in the seat belt lock is defective. That switch has to make along with the door switch to drive the presenter closed and my door switches are new.

it is not necessarily a switch. The seat belt presenter has to go back even if you don't buckle up. i'm guessing it has some elctronic circut that controls it and it is probaby toast...
