Hi there,

So been looking at CLK for my dad today, a while back he put something in the back behind the passenger seat and stuck the seat back and didn't notice he had not left enough room, the fuse clearly popped.

I changed fuse for him and all was well, and then recently he came over and said his drivers chair had stopped working (clearly the motor on the drivers chair is on way out), not having a 25A fuse to hand i just swapped the passenger chair fuse over to drivers seat so he could move it and sent him on his merry way.

Today I thought i'd go get a fuse for passenger chair, stuck fuse in and chair moves about again in all directions as it should but it won't go very far back at all. Have had a good root around under the chair and i cannot see anything preventing it from moving - its as if the car thinks the chair is right back already - it also doesn't move forward and back when you move the back forward like it used to..

I'm wondering if there is a sequence of buttons to press to reset the chair(s), as i remember once i had to press a sequence of buttons to tell the car when the windows were up as they would only go halfway up and alarm would go off because of of it - could this be a similar problem or do i have to look under the chair harder for a hidden obstruction somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

over 200 views and not a peep from anyone, quite lot aren't you..

Well if anyone has this problem i worked it out in end. You have to put the chair as far forward as it will go, it takes this as a reference and will then go all the way back.

You're an impatient guy, aren't you? Folks often don't get onto the forum until the evening here. Also, next time you post, it might be an idea to provide model/year/location as there are many differences between W208 models.

Well done. Not too difficult really.:)

sorry 6 hours is an eternity on all the other forums i use, and most people I know are home fed and watered by 8pm when i posted that. I am genuinely surprised that 200 people had viewed it and no responses. And i think 200 views in itself shows that the forum was not empty during that time.

Regarding exact model etc, sorry couldn't tell you, its a 3.2 V6, its silver and has amg bodykit and electric seats, other than that i don't know.

I just thought i'd report back my findings as i couldn't find the answer after searching for half hour so someone might find this helpful in future.

True - but a lot of guys go cruising through the posts looking at the questions, and have no idea about the answer. Also, your question was incomplete as you didn't say if the seats had the memory feature, which changes their behaviour.

Anyway, thanks - it's a good tip to know.

I had a similar problem and there was a quarter caught in the gears...chewed through it but couldn't eat a quarter. These cars eat money!

I know when I looked at this thread I didn't post because it would have just been "did you try the search button" if you had you would have found the answer is much less than 6 hours.
