A faulty seatbelt is not a safety issue?
Of course the tensioning part of it is! This is about the retracting of the seat belt.
I`m pretty certain that these two features are designed to be decoupled in that unit,
functioning independently.

Now, since it in addition also involves a charge loaded tensioner, I would let the
mechanic replace it, and I think $500 for the lot is a good price.

Although, if the signs points to the comfort feature to be active, I would try
to figure that one out.
