It's very VERY VERY VERY annoying. So much that I keep the windows rolled up all the time. The car screeches in high pitch ness but not terribly loud when accelerating from stop and low speeds. No screeching at 20ish MPH+. Stop and go City driving, this is annoying and embarassing. Can anyone help me out? I don't trust MB of SF (where we bought car). They are dishonest when it comes to service and will bullshit me with any answer they can pull out of the air.

I would suspect:
1-Handbrake release
2-Footbrake calipers release
3-Stuff on brake pads
4-I doubt it can be fanbelt, because of it's shape, but maybe possible slipping ?

I would jack car[In neutrel] and turn wheels to see if anything funny is heard.
I would ask person ride on bycycle next to car at pull away to try to determine from which wheel the sound is coming from.

Wasn't there an issue with some W204 cars that produces this kind of a noise, I believe someone posted a service bulletin on that, could have been Konigstiger. I'd search for those threads, specifically if it comes back.

A couple of quick tips I learned at a home mechanics course : If you don't use yuor e- brake a lot it is still good to put on and off once in awhile to keep cable from jamming up due to road salt, slush, dirt etc, also run your a/c from time to time, even in winter to keep everything running freely.
