Does anyone have ideas? so I dropped my car off yesterday to have some work done at a local shop, When I get the car back there is (2) 1/4" gouges/scratches on the top my burl wood steering wheel.

now of course the shop owner says, his guys didn't do it...BS. For (2) 1/4" marks I dont think its reasonable to ask them to replace the entire steering wheel. While I can not see the scratches really if I am sitting in the seat, I can feel them...they are deep enough my fingers go right to them and I want to start picking at it.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? The shop owner said he would have a interior specialist look into it. Just really disapointed, been going to his shop for years now and never had a problem, But also pissed, as he started saying, "maybe you just didn't notice it"....the car has 14k miles on it, TRUST ME I would have noticed it, it took me 5 minutes of driving the car after I left to notice it. GRRRRRRR. Don't think I can really take him to court and win, as its his word vrs. mine, and I have the burden of proof.

just really sick over this, the car is a 2008 ML550, 14k miles and not one scratch on the entire thing (untill now)..looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

agh that sucks - i hope they step up and help you replace this. I do not think you can fix it.. I had a few faint cracks on mine (under warranty) and MB replaced the steering wheel, just the round wheel, not the center part with the airbag - that stays. Good luck! I hope the local shop covers you.
