Hello guys.
I have a 1984 500Se Euro version.
The car runs good now after I changed plugs, rotor, distributor cap, and plug wires.
The only problem is when I accelerate from 0-whatever with full throttle I hear a scraping metallic sound. Ths only happens at low speed. When I do a kickdown at 50km/h (30 miles) I do not hear it. It comes when flooring at very low speeds.

It comes from Engine, sounds like the metal fan scrapes against something, I do not know what. No damage or visible evidence on fan or radiator. First I thought it was fanbelts and tightened the slack on alternator and powersteering belts. But it is still there. Any clues???

check to see if engine mounts are loose when you do a kickdown it throws the engine to one side if you have engine shocks they could be bad the worst thing you can do is a kickdown

I checked and it looks like a bolt is missing on left enginemount. I can see the small shocks in front of the mount and a hole on top of the mount where it probably is supposed to be a large bolt going down vertically. It is missing. Thanks for answer. Man it will be difficult to put a new one there with all the exhaust and AC compressor obstructing.

Replacing motor mounts is easy and something these cars require.
