Finally getting around to painting my SL. Old paint was faded, chipped and the last guy that painted it (before I owned it) taped off stopping at the pinstripe so the paint was a bit off compared to below the pinstripe. I am painting in stages. The first is doors/rockers, "a"pillars, front fenders, hood, and frontal area (air dam and smaller bits).

There was minor rust fortunately, and some dings which I filled with Bondo and sanded, finishing with 320 grit. I am using single stage urethane because basecoat/clear is too much work and more chance for mistakes by the uh, painter.

Using TCP Global's Restoration Shop paint. I painted my other car 9 years ago with TCP and even though it was a sucky job on my part, the paint is holding up. I am a beginner painter but happy to answer any questions. Pics below.
