Cheers all!

Need to purchase a scanner that reads W211 (E350 722.9) transmission temperature. I thought my old Matco did, but nope, too old) About to do my first electronic transmission fluid change, I realized that the temperature has to be spot on to do the job right...

Sub $150 preferable? ICarsoft/Foxwell, but what models/modules?

Thanks in advance!

D

Autel AP200 will read transmission temp without cable getting in the way.

Another option: get a hand's free 'laser' thermometer, and just read the temperature on the transmission pan, and that will be close enough. You can calibrate the thermometer on a pan of boiling water to have some confidence it gives accurate results, if you buy the cheap cheap version from Harbor Freight. Very nice to use to check other temperatures on various things to diagnose other problems.

Cheers Max! Thanks! That was my first option, I kinda figured would be close enough, but then, reading through varies DIYs and PDFs, even decent handheld quality can vary up 10 degrees... from the actual temp? In a pinch, I would have, but I must tell you, this little Autel MaxiAP is a little gem for $54.00
When you get it first thing to do is trip to the Mall to claim your one free make. Benz obviously. You can add other makes later.
So this thing was waiting for me when I got home from work. Works - oh yes it does!!! My corded Matco can't even come close to the amount of data this little gadget extracts (I'll even forgive the pain the ass registration/app issues for over an hour with "invalid serial number, incorrect validation code").

Once it's connected, and firmware updated - wow!!! It obuiosely does the basics I needed

But also, all these modules!!! It is fairly easy to navigate through, even ventured into the AC system to take a glance at of the the temperamental passenger side flaps! Very useful little gadget, and very much like the cordless operation, so thank you @Witek_M very much for this little guy! It will be put to a good use!
