Those fake-ass "xenon-like" bulbs. I don't really wanna drop 2k for the real thing. I was thinking, because the way the 208's lights are made (turn sig. on top, headlight on bottom) there would be a clean cut-line for the wannabe xenon bulb and it might look ok. Thoughts?........Flame if you must.

Rice. You have a Mercedes Benz, my man. Don't put those blue Mexican bulbs in there.

If you want xenon/HID, by a kit for $200-$400 and retrofit it in your OEM light housing. I got mine from an ML55 and the lighting is awesome....

Str8, could you post a pic? $400 is definately do-able. How difficult was the install? Thanks. Btw.....Rice?

Sure bud..pic below. Mind you, this is in the daytime, so it's really bright in the nighttime! I have Philips 4300K bulbs (stock for most MB's), but if you want a brighter, bluer look, you can go up to 6000K or even 8000K.

Looks nice. Could I use the stronger bulbs with the same ballast? I figured out "rice". But if they're made in Mexico, should'nt it be "arroz"?...heh heh.

FYI, real OEM Xenon assemblies are not 2k. I got mine brand new for $750. You just have to keep your eyes open.

Also, the OEM assemblies have a clearer lens and look much better - they really change the look of the front of the car. :0)

Yes, you are. Make sure they are D2R bulbs though, not D2S for projector. Josh is right though, if you get the whole assembly, it will look real nice (check his sig pics, wow!), but if you can't find it for that price, just retrofit it into your existing halogon assembly.

Check out this link for some good info on HID/Xenon's

Also, you don't have to always get OEM ballast/wires/bulbs, there are aftermarket kits out there. But OEM is pretty reliable from what I here.

What about these? The first guy seems like a pain in the ass (smart ass remarks on feedback). It seems to me though, if your not getting the whole enchilada, like the projection housing, the point is moot and you'd do just as well with "los illuminados azul de Mexico)...Sorry JuanC........I guess my question is, are these kits worth it, or should I invest in said enchilada?

I bought the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs, ($35 a pair) and I've very happy with them. The wife has HID on her ML55 and I think I like mine better. All I need now is the matching "city light" bulbs that reside in the hi-beam. Right now mine look like the pix str8ridin posted.

I'm getting hungry after all this enchalada talk. Lo siento JuanC. I think it's kinda the opposite...getting the whole housing and spending mucho dinero on the housing is moot, when the difference is not that much. Unless we have projector housings, only then will the difference be very noticeble. But it's your cash...

If you just give up and go for los illuminados de Walmart, buy the Silver Stars...the closest bulbs that have good color and are bright that I know of.

Muchos Gracias..............Buey! heh heh. I'm gonna keep looking for a deal like Josh's, but I haven't seen anything for under $700 a piece. At that rate I wouldn't be able to afford the whale tail and curb feelers, lol
