Your dealer is probably in the best position to tell you what he would charge for it.

As far as cost of the receiver, you could shop ebay or the web for the same receiver (SDARS) module - and pull & replace it yourself. I doubt you have to do the full installation.

I may have jumped to a conclusion when you said satellite receiver; I believed you meant a Sirius receiver.

However, if you meant reception for your nav system, the most common failure is water in a splitter for your antenna system. I would check that. Beyond, look for a disconnected antenna lead. The only photo I have is for a W220 - see post #8, S430 D navigation loses position - MBWorld.org Forums - but I don't know if your car will have a similar connector.

car is under warranty......the dealer replaced the sirius module....we reconnected with Sirius and it worked for about 15 minutes....now it is back to showing "searching for signal". Called Sirius and they still cannot connect.
i have no faith in the dealer service, so am trying to figure out what is going on without blindly believing what they say

thought you'd like to hear the latest.
took the car to the dealer and they replaced the control module. I then reconnected to Sirius and it worked for about 30 minutes, and again failed, showing "searching for signal". Called Sirius and they tried again to send a signal and could not.
the dealer paperwork says they "ran SDS test and found Code D241". they then "performed electrical test of Sat Antenna and found ok". then they replaced the module.
Bottom line...it's still not working

here's the latest.....the dealer put in a second control module for the sat reciever and it "didn't work either"....but the service manager at the dealer says the code shows a defective module.....
as of now, they "have called Mercedes" and will try to find out some more tomorrow!
