we only had it for 2-3 months now and went i got home from school .. it was gone! it was a 98 w210. it will be missed.

I asked him why he sold it and he said something about the heavy steering compared to our japanese cars. [:(][8)] oh well hopefully the replacement would still be a three pointed star or the ultimate driving experience because im not settling for less.

i saw the car today at the local mall and it already had new rims! damn the new owners moves fast. from the stock 15" to what looks like 18" Brabus Monoblocks (replicas i think). but im quite glad that he's modding it as opposed to my dad.
Heavy steering compared to Japanese cars, eh? Sorry for your loss, but at least it sounds like it went to a good home...
interesting. today i test drove a 2001 e320; drove my 2006 accord to the test drive.

the steering in the e320 felt lighter (RWD, not 4matic). i felt the steering was a lot lighter, in fact, which to me makes sense since all the weight on my accord is on the front wheels, whereas the drivetrain is in the rear on the e320. wonder what he meant by heavy steering, i guess not what i noticed!

what did your dad end up buying, just curious? i'm sold on switching after driving this e-class today and it's five years older than what i just bought!
I don't see how anyone can say the 210 has a heavy steering feel. I have a 98 E320 as well as an 88 300E. The 98 definitely has a quicker, lighter feeling than the 88. To me, the W210 chassis is one of, if not the best chassis ever made for a sedan. A front wheel drive japanese car is not even in the same league. I think you should question your dad's understanding of what makes a great car.
actually i drove the benz for a while too and true enough the steering felt heavier than my 02 sentra and my dad's 97 land cruiser. i read somewhere they changed the steering around 2001 and beyond and that it was lighter than the older benzes. He even got shoulder pains from the heavy steering

My dad hasnt bought a replacement for it yet but im hoping it would still be german or better yet ... still the three pointed star. [:)]

Unfortunately my dad wants to get a new camry... i hate camrys!!! so fckin common![xx(][:0]

There is a code (213 parametric-steering)that makes the difference at the feeling of the steering.Depends on the country and the model if it was offered as a standard equipment. Here for example was in the standard equippment at the face-lift models.Personally(my car doesn't have this code)i don't think that the steering is heavy without it.[8)]
