I've just recently acquired the S500 after we wrote off our 430 Cabriolet. I love the car but trying to program the interior rear view mirror is driving me nuts. I've tried what I think the owner's manual instructs but haven't had any success. Can anyone direct me to a place on the site that will help me? Thanks for your help - Bob

Thanks for the response Skylaw. It's my fault that I didn't explain myself better.

I am referring to programming the mirror itself. The inside rear view mirror is electric and every time I enter the car and start it the mirror moves to a previous setting. The mirror does adjust but not to a setting that provides the proper view (for me) out the rear window. I'm trying to learn how to adjust the inside rear view mirror itself and ideally have the settings married to my key.

Thanks again for the try and hopefully you can help me further.

First, manually position the interior rear view mirror. Then, re-save your seat position, in accordance with the owner's manual. The interior rear view mirror settings are saved together with the seat and outside rear view mirror positions.

The electric interior rear view mirror was discontinued in later models - I don't recall which year, but my '05 does not have the feature, even as an option. It's a shame - my '00 had it, and it simplified matters when the wife drove the car.
