i have a 2000 s430 that airmatic suspension has been converted to a touring tech coil spring conversion kit. the car sits kinda high and i was told that i could lower the car by using thinner spring shims .
can anyone tell me how thick are the ones on the car,and where can purchase thinner spring shim pads

Welcome aboard. Please take a moment to click user cp and edit details so you can easily add your vehicle and location to your profile; it's often useful information when you're seeking assistance.

Unfortunately, you really can't do a whole lot with the spring pads. Even if you have the thickest pad available already in there you would only be able to drop it just a bit over 1/2" by using the pad. However, you might have a thinner pad already in place (that's pretty typical; there are five thicknesses) in which case you'd lose even less than that.

My advice would be to go to a trusted shop and let them give you some options, of which cutting springs is often one.

Hope that helps.

Good luck.

You can post your own pics. Choose "Edit" in your post above (or "Go Advanced" in a new post), then select "Manage Attachments." You will get a separate window that will allow you to post pics and other documents. You may have to enlarge that window to see all of the buttons. The rest is pretty intuitive - but pay attention to the maximum sizes for the different file types, at the bottom of the "attachments" window. Once your files are uploaded, you can preview your post, or just post it and edit it after, if necessary.
