So... I am tring to fix a ginding issue on my 2.6 and I am suspecting the rotors. I went on a search and decided the 400e upgrade is what I would like to do since i need to replace the parts anyway. I found a guy that is willing to sell me a set of caliper, rotors, and, dust sheilds off a s420 for $100 used. I need to know if these will work I have done a lot of sercahing today but have been unable to find the answer. Sorry if this has been coverd abefore and i couldnt find it but this is a DD and i need to get it going. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Idk why used brakes would be an option. The s420 is basically the newer version of the 400e relatively same weight/size so I don't see the benefits. Have you taken the wheels off recently? I did the rotors/brakes on my Q45 and had some grinding just needed some adjusting. I'd look locally in Cincinnati you can get some good quality rebuilds. A guy I know recently did my alternator, calipers and rotors, also slotted rotors it was like $200.

These will be going on a 2.6 190e. I know that the 400e brakes will work but I am unsure that the s420 will be the same.

I receintly swithced to some 17 amgIII's and the sound was still there I swapped it back to a stock rim from anouther car and go the same sound. The calipers and rotors look to be stock so I think it is time to cahnge them anyways. At this point I need to get it on the road and none of the places I have taken it to have given me a straigh answer on what the problem could be.

I am in california and I havent found a price like that anywhere. one guy wanted to charge me $80 just to test drive it and tell me what he thought.
