Has anybody else experienced a belt tensioner failure
on his S320?
Mine failed due to a casting defect on the part that
bolts to the car. A highly porous casting resulted
in classic fatigue break. Luckily I caught the
problem before the pieces took out the radiator
and hood.
So far MBUSA has not been very helpful. This is
a defective part -- it should never have left the
factory. The cost was low, less than $100, because
of my careful observation. I would like to be
reimbursed for the parts cost: does this seem reasonable?
