I don't think there is "rustproofing"
Wash your car often and use some good wax after. If you get a little chip, mark it up with the touch up paint right away. I try not drip any gas on the car when I fill up either. Letting bird crap sit for a while is not good or salt from the snowy roads.
So far so good as far as I'm concerned. I have some rust, but not as bad as I seen other MB's on the road
