I just bought a 2004 C320 4matic sedan with significant rust on the bottom of the drivers door. The rest of the car looks good. I'm looking for a replacement door or door shell. Black would be nice, although I could paint. Ideas on where to find one?

To prevent door rust in the future I was thinking of spraying something into the bottom of each door. I have used Boeshield, Corrosion-X, and ACF-50 on aluminum aircraft but I don't know how well they work on steel. LPS-3 might be better(?) It congeals into a waxy/oily substance that prevents corrosion. Other ideas?

I decided to have a body shop replace the door with a brand new door shell. I'm not going to have time to DIY, and am concerned that I would break a few parts if I tried. The rest of the car is so nice - I don't want to mess it up! A local used door is too likely to have the beginnings of rust, and shipping a used door looked expensive. "New is nice"
