When I start my ‘83 300 Turbo, it’s slightly harder than normal and it runs ok for about a mile then I can barely keep her going… I pull over and feather the gas for several minutes until the engine warms up and then drive away like nothing was wrong.

About 3,000 miles ago I changed the fuel filter and had valve adjustment done. I’m a little suspicious of the in-tank screen filter but don’t think that a warm engine would act any differently than a cold one if that was the problem.

Am I missing anything in troubleshooting?: recheck filters and valves, run injector cleaner, have compression checked.

Thanks!

sounds like your off to a good start to recheck all those things - did it start doing this after you adjusted the valves? - A diesel purge may help... make sure you're not leaking any fuel - test for fuel pressure... thats all I can think of - is your oil pressure good? if you run an additive i suggest using BG products
