So about a month back my boyfriend along with his friend decided to clean the 240D's engine.
They sprayed something on it and it worked great! They were so happy[:D][8D]
...and then our friend started spraying this stuff on my rims.
The next day as I was washing the car I look under the hood [:D] and it's so clean and pretty.
But when I go to wash the tires [8)] I see it! [:O]
Someone made my rims look like chit! [:(!]

I don't know what they did,
But can someone tell me how to fix it?? [:(] ...please

Degreasers

Sorry to hear about your rims. I used to sell degreasers and you should know that degreasers like the engine cleaner used are highly alkaline. This is equivalent to a wax stripper used on floors to remove dirt and acrylic floor finishes. So, using a degreaser on your rims probably removed some clear coating on your rims and yes, they do turn alloy parts dark. Also, don't use degreaser cleaners on your paint. It too will also work as a wax stripper.
You could go to your auto store and get some rim paint that matches and spray paint the rims (after sanding/beadblasting the old paint).

Hope this helps.

The Riminator Strikes Again!!

I don't even know if I should post this...

So as fate would have it, after I left that post our friend came by and did a valve adjustment.
My car is running so much better, she's even a 'lil quicker on the go! yay!
...and then he showed me;
the rim he spray painted Gold.

Now I must admit it looked fuller, smoother.
But it was gold, against my black car, gold like a capped tooth, gold like on my brand new tires.
Don't even get me started about the tires...
it was only the one... front drivers side wheel.
I can't talk about this anymore...
I have to go scream into a pillow now.
