My new 11 C300s wipers were jumping a bit when on in light rain. I cleaned them with rubbing alcohol and they work smoothly now. Took off a lot of black residue. Brand new car and wipers were just used once. Just thought I should let others know.
Thanks, I used an environmentally safe glass cleaner that sprays on like a foam. Works great on my house windows. Also, don't forget to clean the windshield. I use ammonia. Road oil on rubber and glass is a mess.
Thanks, only used it once. What would you recommend? You shouldn't use rubbing alcohol on the wiper blades cause it'll eventually dry it out resulting in stiff, flaking, and cracking.
Thanks!I've used a sprinkle of comet on a wet rag to wipe mine down, then blast them with water, clean as a whistle. Only ever need to do it maybe once or twice a year.
Really any APC will work well to clean. I then use 303 Wiper Treatment to condition and extend the life of the blades. 303 Wiper Treatment stops squeaking and skipping wiper blades. 303 Wiper Treatment reconditions hardening rubber blades and makes them glide like new. Thanks, only used it once. What would you recommend?
I have been using it for decades on every car I have owned and never had a problem. I replace the wipers every year before winter as a normal piece of my maintenance routine. I use Bo-Ami to clean the glass works fantastic. You shouldn't use rubbing alcohol on the wiper blades cause it'll eventually dry it out resulting in stiff, flaking, and cracking.
I use Bon-Ami on the windshield also but sparingly. After a long road trip or some really funky weather. I'll have to try the "303" for the wipers.I use Bo-Ami to clean the glass works fantastic.
if you replace wipers every year, then yeah, you won't have issues with alcohol on blades as you won't own the blades long enough for it to matter. I'm on my original blades for 3 years now and they still perform as well as they did brand new, but here in california, we don't get as much usage out of them as you guys on the upper east coast do, but if I was to use alcohol to clean them, no way they would have lasted me this long.I have been using it for decades on every car I have owned and never had a problem.
