mine starts the same way....

I have almost the same exact problem with my 190E 2.6L. Though i replaced the wireing and had the battery checked (which was just fine) the engine still idles roughly and mainly takes a while to start. Having to turn many times before a spark is made. The plugs were also replaced and a tune up resulted in no change in condition. Somone once mentioned to me that the fuel injectors may have to be cleaned or replaced, haven't had the time to check into that, perhaps it may be of value for you to know.

Nate, i've tried fuel injector cleaner though, many times, i also keep a steady oil change going on too. What is the "cold start valve" that you were saying?
