im sure i wont be the first to deal with this problem.... the bottom of the battery box rotting away.(1300l german army) i think it might be "saveable" ill know better after i sandblast it. for now my plan is to clean it up , por15 it and weld some new pieces in. id like to hear how some of you have repaired battery boxes....or replaced them with new stock parts, of fabracated new boxes? any photos? thanks, kris

ok, i have got the battery box sandblasted, new pieces welded in where it had rusted. my question is what should i prime and paint it with to resist new rust? i considered por-15....but ill be painting over clean, rust free steel. should i use ospho, followed by regular paint. has anyone used a product called zerorust? any ideas?

I wonder if you called one of the pick-up truck liner places and ask what it would cost to shoot it along with one of their jobs? The inside only, I mean.

i like the spray in liner idea....dang, ive already painted por-15 inside the box. i suppose it could go right over the por-15.
