I'm in the midst of doing my front suspension work (upper control arms, lower control arms, strut arms and ball joints). Anyways when I removed the caliper my rotor just fell off! I'm guessing there should be something else holding the rotor on. I see there's a hole on the rotor like a bolt should be there but it's empty. Any ideas of what's missing here or am I good to replace all as before and roll on?

Although clamping force for the rotor to the wheel hub is ultimately accomplished by the lug bolts, you should replace the set screw to help with alignment of the caliper during reassembly.

The screw is primarily used to hold the rotor on before the caliper and wheels are installed on the assembly line. It is not really needed at this point, but as others have said, you can put the fasteners back in if you want.

Thanks all. I went ahead and got 2 from the dealership today. I noticed the screw on the other side is broken off inside the rotor so I'll need to have a spare when I tackle the rotor change eventually.
