Hi

I am off skiing in My W212 saloon (no sunroof), so need to put a roof rack on top for 2 pairs of skis and a snowboard.

Is there a good alternative to the Mercedes Alustyle kit, which at £300+ seems a bit pricey (200 for rails, 77 for ski holder + vat etc) or is this worth paying for. I go twice a year at least.

And yes i do already have the snow chains, after the recent weather I have had to leave the car in the garage as its useless in the snow!!

Will never have a roof rack, so really don't know the answer. BUT having read the operator's manual throughly, I noticed that M-B makes several references to breaking the warranty if you do not do things their way with their people and their parts. First time I have ever seen this many disclaimers or warnings.
