I finally removed part of my roof rack, which allowed me to get to the roof hatch. It was way worse than I had feared & has corroded completely through in places.
Can anyone suggest what type of business might be able to repair it.... bodywork repair shop, steel fabricator...??

Could you not just take it to a standard autobody and paintshop? Same as repairing rust on a door or body panel, cut out the affected sheetmetal, weld in a new piece, place filler/sand to profile, and paint.

Any competent autobody shop should be able to repair your hatch. It’s a very simple part.
