I put a set of febi rockers in my 220se coupe about three years ago, maybe 10k miles. Just found two that were delaminating. The hardened chrome surface has started to break away. I was able to put one under a microscope and flake the plating off. The rockers were looked at by a machine shop that specializes in aluminum heads and his comment was the plating was not thick enough. Originally these were ground and heat treated, but now to cut costs they are plated. He has seen this in German and Japanese engines, although his comment was the Japanese manufacturers figured out how to prevent this..... If anyone has replaced your rockers with febi rockers in the last few years, you may have this problem and it's worth checking out.
