How do I know it's that time of the year again?

Because Winter is over and I start seeing hydraulic cylinder system Posts that consist of latches not opening/closing, fluid on the ground, and dead batteries being recharged that lead to diagnostic trouble codes that need resetting.

So I really need you senior forum guys that have a clear understanding of the RST system to help answer questions or point them to the following posts :

Pulled the hard top a few weeks ago and yesterday I saw a drip from the right front latch.
Hope I can fix it before it drips on my wife.

Please remember to carry a clean cloth in your car, just in case you need to protect her clothes and stay off of the couch.

If this is the first HC repair for your car that seems pretty good for a 1996 to get 13 years out of the front HC's especially living in The Desert.

Has your car been out in the hot sun much during this time?
Which desert? Palm Springs?
What mileage does the car have on it?
