The oil change is the only "crazy important" part. But there are a lot of other items that should be checked anyway. Your owner's manual has the list.

On the subject all of the items on the list are things that should be checked on all brands of vehicles regularly. And their manuals also state so. But most people ignore them. MB is one of the few brands that uses scare tactics to get owners to follow the instructions. The results of this is one of the reasons why there are so many 30 year old MBs still being used as daily drivers.

If you only want your vehicle to last 100-150k miles then basically be junk then you can ignore all of the extra service.

*Edit* - This shouldn't imply that you need to take it to a dealer for all of the extra work. If you are halfway mechanically inclined you can do all of it yourself or even if not spend half the money and just take it to a good mechanic.

I have to assume that your ML is a recent purchase? Double blinking wrenches means that it's time to perform the "B" service to your vehicle. It will run you about $400 at a dealership.

FYI - Service intervals for this vehicle run on a (typically) 6-month rotation. "A" service is the smaller of the two, and it usually runs about $250. Then, 6 months later, it's time for "B" service.

Please check the stickies at the top of this post for pertinent information regarding the upkeep of your vehicle. Unless, of course, you are intentionally asking an easily-researched question as an April Fools prank, in which case I applaud your ruse. Well played, sir.
