Im conteplating on getting these rims. They look great in the picture. Does anybody know what their name is, or will they fit w140? These are their dimentions 8jx17" 5x112 et35. I can get them for 250 US all 4. Ofcourse I would need to buy 4 new tyres for them arround 1200 US

Is it worth the touble?

Thanks for your imput

I don't think et35 will fit W140. W140's are et44 if I remember correctly. I have a set of AMG 3 piece wheels from an SL60 AMG that are et35 and they will not fit my W140, but they do fit my R129 SL. The wheels look great in the picture--I would still ask what condition they are in. $250 is very cheap for wheels. It just seems fishy to me. Maybe its just me though ;)

They look like coupe's standard wheels but they were coming out in 18".I have 20"s on mine with et35 and they fit just fine.
I just think they may look too small for w140 in 17"-ours are very big cars

Thanks for the input guys :) Regarding the size I have stock 16" on my car right now, and 17" would be a step up :) + they look great.

MB Fahrer & Borys, now I have a problem, two guys on the forum have two different oppinions if they will fit or not? hahhahaahhahaah

Can anybody else confirm whether they fit or not? :(

Thank you once again for your replys :)

they will fit with no problem. 17x8 +35 will fit without any modification. you will NOT have any issue with rubbing unless your tire size are wrong.

I am running a much more aggressive offset and bigger size rim and have not done any modification to my car so the set your looking at will be fine!

and I have the same set you are looking at on my 140 and it will fit with no problem, but mine is not chrome :)

The rims are nice and the price seems too good to be true.

Personally I am saving up to buy 19"s. Probably 2012 at this rate.

Check the wheels out if you can. Your quote for tyres seems very high. Shop around, 17" tyres should work out a bit cheaper.

Wheels are nice, but not the same as those in the pic you posted of the W140 although they are close and give a good approximation of what they would look like. I think the ones in your pic are machine faced and almost flat faced.

OE W140 8 holes are ET51, W220 16" seven spokes are ET46 IIRC. A jump to ET35 is not that big of a deal and should fit, there's plenty of fender clearance on the 140, the jump between from the ET51 to the ET35 is just slightly more than a half inch (.63") so it's really not that much of a difference.

I also agree, you should be able to put tires on those for less. Also, make sure these are true and there aren't a couple bent ones in there.

I bought the rims :) :) :)

They look great :) my car is being freshend up, first mechanically:

1.New water pump
2.Air filter
3.New (OEM) springs all wheels ( ride and stance improved dramatically)
4.New brake discs and pads
5.Front arm bushings
and some other minor touchups.

Cosmetically:

1.Tinting windows
2.New wheels :)
3.Painting the lower clading, in its original colour.
4.Maybe, im going to take all the wood out and have it painted professionaly in Piano black finish

Tonight im gonna use "Meguiars" all metal polish on the rims to remove oxidation and make them look like new (pics tomorrow).

Questions:

1.Can anybody tell me what dimention tire/brand should I fit. They are 8jx17" 5x112 et35 ?
2.Does anybody have the color code for the lower cladding? she is a 93 so lower cladding is grey.
3. Should i have the wood painted in "piano black" i'm afraid there wouldn't be much contrast, as the interior is black. But then maybe it will look good, opinions appreciated :)

Thank you guys for past and future input.

I tried to polish the rims a bit with meguiars, It will take me time to bring them to as new condition. Here are some pics.

Does anybody know, ive heard that dish washing liquid will clean the grime of the rims very fast?

If the wheels are polished alum. the Home Depot sells a kit with different grades of polish to bring out the mirror shine, if they are chrome just be very careful not to rub the chrome to much or you will haze the chrome...nice wheels and a awesome price

Those wheels look great. One suggestion I will make is that you should get shiny centre caps to match the wheels. The ones with the chrome and blue Mercedes Benz would look great:

Or perhaps:

NZ BEnz i love the idea about center caps :) the problem is that these parts in Serbia are very hard to come by :( ill try in Germany E-bay :)

Can anybody please answer these questions im kinda lost :(

But then maybe it will look good, opinions appreciated

Thank you very much for your input :)

Love,

I have looked at a tyre width calculator online.

My original factory tyres are 235/60/16 = 688mm

Your proposed size of 235/55/17 = 690mm

Therefore with a 2mm difference you will not see any difference in gearing.

So yes.

Hope that helps:thumbsup:
